Exploring the history of the groove

“Que vale más” by simón diáz

“Que Vale Mas” is a song composed in 1992, written and performed by Simon Diaz. Sung with a tinge of pain, this song is about longing for the one he loves, as he sings “what is more, nothing comparable to you”. Simon Diaz was a Grammy Award-winning  composer from Barbacoas, Venezuela. Many of his songs, including “Que Vale Mas,” have since been adapted by symphonies and choral ensembles throughout the latin community.

Not many people are aware of the fact that, although he was an artist, he has produced and hosted over 12 different television programs.  One of the programs he produced was a children’s show that taught children about popular culture. Simon Diaz was notably one of the leading artists of his time.
