Exploring the history of the groove

“Whistle While You Work” by Adrianna Caselotti

Most people know the Disney movie “Snow White.” The wonderful song “Whistle While You Work” was introduced to us first in 1937 in an iconic scene where Snow White stumbles across a messy cabin belonging to the Seven Dwarves, and proceeds to clean it while singing. The song, written by Frank Churchill and Larry Morey became a part of childhoods for generations. It’s even been covered by Alvin and the Chipmunks, very popularly! The song, besides being featured in the movie itself, is featured in many Disney sing-along-song home videos and even a promotional video that was released for Disney Land. Just one last fun fact to end this podcast- none of the songs in Snow White are owned by Disney! Instead, they are owned by Bourne Co. Music Publishers!”
