Exploring the history of the groove

“That’s Amore” By Dean Martin

Performed by the notorious Dean Martin, first appeared in a classic black and white movie: The Caddy, premiered in 1953. The famous line: “When a moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie. That’s amore!” first appeared in the movie, it became a big hit. However, it never made the #1 Hit; despite this, Dean Martin was already on the come up with being apart of the Rat Pack which included Frank Sinatra, Peter Lawford, Sammy Davis Jr, Joey Bishop, and of course Dean Martin.  The movie actually stars Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis, who sing the song together with a room full of people. It’s also been rumored that Jerry Lewis paid Warren and Brooks, the producer and writer of the song, to have Dean Martin sing it in hopes for it to be that #1 Hit. Despite it not making it, “That’s Amoré” has become renown  in many TV shows and movies such as The Simpsons, Friends, White Chicks, Enchanted, and more!
