The song, “A dream is a wish your heart makes,” sung by the Jubalaires is a very well known song still to this day. The song was written with the intent of being in the movie, Cinderella. It was released in 1950, the same time that the movie was. The song still plays in Disney World in the park as well as on rides and during shows. The scene the song is played in shows Cinderella getting ready for another dreadful day working for her evil stepmother. The song is her looking on the bright side of things and “dreaming of a great big beautiful tomorrow.”
The famous line, “No matter how your heart is grieving, If you keep on believing, a dream that you wish will come true” has been an inspiration to many. The song focuses on the idea of never letting go of your dreams. In the movie, Cinderella never stops believing and always wishes for her happily ever after.
Alana is currently working towards a degree in writing arts and elementary education at Rowan University. She currently works at the rec center on campus as an intramural referee. She absolutely loves her job and hopes to continue to get her certification to ref at the high school level. In her spare time she enjoys playing sports, staying active, and going to the beach.
