Exploring the history of the groove

“At Last” by Glenn Miller (etta james)

“At Last” was written by Mack Gordon and Harry Warren originally in 1941 and performed first by Glenn Miller and his orchestra in 1942. Almost 20 years later, singer Etta James, recorded an arrangement of the song, improvising the melody in 1960. This song quickly grew very popular and Etta James was soon to be a well-known artist. This is the Glenn Miller orchestrated, instrumental version of this song, which led to James’ version of “At Last” to grow wildly popular for proms, couples, and weddings, speaking about how everything has now fallen into place once meeting and having someone that they have been waiting for.
