Sam Cook “Cooke” was born on  January 22, 1931 in Clarksdale, Mississippi. He was one of eight children, and both of his parents were baptists at his father’s church. Also, Sam and his three siblings even formed their own singing group “Singing Children”, and they performed at their father’s church. He also joined one of the soul groups, “Soul Sisters” in 1951. They’re also known for He is well-known for being one of the most important soul singer performers in history. Not to mention, one of the first black music composers in the music industry. Sam Cooke is still today one of the most important artists today. Sadly, his life was taken away on December 11, 1964. Today, his songs are still on the Top 100 as well.  Sam Cooke’s “Good Times” was released on July 9, 1964. He wrote it and sang it, and the label he recorded with was RCA. Many well known artists covered it such as: Aretha Franklin, The Rolling Stones, Journey and many more. It is a perfect summer time, driving with your windows down song.
