Exploring the history of the groove

The Bunny Hop

I’m doing a story about a song called the “Bunny Hop” which was a vocal hit in 1952 and re-recorded in 1954. The song was made by a man named Ray Anthony, Auletti, Lee Roy, and his Band. One of this record’s artist, Ray Anthony, was very well known for his trumpet playing and that stands out because you hear that mainly throughout the entire song. The history behind this song was that it was made into a dance that was created at a high school in San Francisco in 1952. It is a song that has a very exciting, uplifting beat with dancing to it and was featured in Cry Baby, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Everybody Loves Raymond, and The Addam Family Values.
